Ode to Animals

Because I am one of those annoying people that will show you every cute picture ever taken of the things I love...(and will undoubtedly be the same way with my kids... sorry!)

Jake (also goes by Jakey, Buddy)

Keiko (pronounced Kay-ko)

I am a HUGE animal person (other than spiders and snakes of course, lol). The unconditional love they show is one of the most amazing and inspiring things I have ever witnessed. I thought I would share my amazing puppies with you all, as they are too cute and such loves.

As you can see, Jake will capitalize on any opportunity in which he might, just might, get his belly rubbed. He will come right up to you, and lay down at your feet on his back. His thoughts: I came close enough that you can reach me, so you can rub my belly! Jakey was a rescue from the Boulder Humane Society. To this day, he ducks his head when you go to pet him. We think he was abused as a puppy. Now how in the world you could abuse something as cute as him, I will never know. And  pray every night, literally, that God will abuse and torment those that hurt animals. Jake is a huge love; if you pet him and then stop, he will paw at your leg to remind you he is ready and willing! :) Jake is also cunning and VERY smart. He is the best thief I have ever seen. He can grab food off the counter and devour it on the carpet in the living room without a single trace. Although he has run away and caused some drama, those of us that can see past his devilish ways know he is our favorite.

Keiko was put on this earth as cute puppy picture material. Her elevator doesn't go all the way to the top, and we aren't sure she even has a brain, but she can make you feel loved and important better than the best of 'em. She is a life-saver, literally. There is no where in the world she would rather be than at your feet, following you throughout the house. She has an emotional tie to us that is un-real; an uncanny understanding when someone needs comfort. And isn't she something to look at?! A little fox most people say. A lover in the full sense of the word, we are very blessed to have her.

Give your puppy some extra love today, just to say thank you for all the love they have for you.  :)

Such a great testament to the animals we love! We have a 4-year-old 95-lb. chocolate lab named Dirk, who is the world's most spoiled dog! He's a great protector, but the most lovable dog in the world. He loves laying on the couch, feet in the air and just chillin'. His other spot is my bed where he snuggles in next to me at night waiting for the hubby to get home for bed.

No matter the day I've had, when I come home each night to this dog you can't help but smile when you open the door and he's there wagging his tail just waiting to show you his toy!
